  • Growing Information

    In The Garden

Native to areas of northern Australia and South East Asia, the Weeping Fig has gracefully drooping branches and large waxy deep green leaves that has made it a favourite for landscapers and indoor plantscapers. In cooler climates this tree will grow to a smaller size and makes a tough and attractive indoor plant.

    Propagation

As a tropical species, this plant will not tolerate frost and in cooler climates will need to be protected in winter. A very versatile tree, this species manages well in poor, acidic and alkaline soils. It will produce fruit which can stain cars/walkways and it should be planted away from high traffic areas. It's shallow and aggressive roots can affect structures. Best used as a pot plant!
