  • Growing Information

    In The Garden

As it's name suggests, the Norway Spruce is native to cooler parts of Europe and is found growing up to an altitude of 3000m. A fast grower, this species will grow up to 1m a year for the first 25 year. A popular ornamental conifer tree in cooler climates, the Norway Spruce is also the main species of conifer used for Christmas trees.

    Propagation

A very hardy tree, this species is well suited to all cool and temperate areas of Australia and will prefer a rich sandy soil. If growing for the garden, keep the tree in a pot for the first 2 years to allow good root development.
