The Evening Primrose make a lovely garden flower. The soft golden yellow blooms open in the late afternoon to early evening releasing a delicate and pleasant scent, and few plants have a history as interesting. Once used as a cure-all, it is now most commonly used for its oil which is extracted from the seeds. However, the whole plant is edible and the leaves can make a pleasant culinary green. Once settled in your garden, they will tend to self-seed, giving you years of blooms from a single sowing.
