Curled cress is easy to grow. It likes moist, organic soils and it’s even possible for apartment-dwellers to grow it in containers for fresh greens. Use the leaves in salads or on sandwiches and save the peppery seeds to use as a spice. You can also make deliciously healthy sprouts with the seeds. Cress is known for its nutritional value and is particularly rich in iron.

  • Growing Information

    How to Sow

Whether you are growing cress in containers or soil, sow it where it is to grow. You can start harvesting really early, so there’s not much point in transplanting it. Give it rich soil and plenty of moisture. Sow every 10 days for a constant supply.

    How to Harvest

As soon as you have leaves on your cress seedlings, you can start using them as a source of microgreens. Pinch or trim out the tips, leaving a piece of stem and a pair of leaves for resprouting. If you use them as microgreens, they may not resprout.
