In the Garden
This North American native tree has a fairly broad, pyramidal silhouette when young but matures into a dense, 15-20m tall column, 5-8m wide. The short, silver-green needles densely clothe the upright branches making White Spruce ideally suited to use as a hedge or windbreak.
This tree is best suited to cooler and temperate area of Australia. It prefers full sun but to avoid browning off the leaves it needs some shade from the midday sun in summer. This species is very adaptable and can be grown in any well draining soil. Once established it is also very drought tolerant.
