In the Garden
Named the Silk Tree due to its delicate flowers. The tree is not only very beautiful, due to its fast spreading growth habit, it is also a really practical choice for a shade tree. A tree with a real tropical feel, this species is great as a potted specimen or for shading a back porch.
Propagation
Native to China, this tree can be grown in all areas of Australia except the very far north. Once established it has great drought tolerance, although for deeper leaf colour in summer it is good to keep it well mulched and watered. Plant in full sun and out of very salty soils.
