A wonderfully rounded and sweeping shape, highlighted by bright green foliage and scented bark.

Closely related to the Hinoki Cypress, the Sawara Cypress, it has beautiful and smooth dark reddish-brown bark and small, green, scale-like leaves that make it a great bonsai tree.Suitable for upright and slanting styles, it likes regular, light trimming as opposed to heavy pruning. although it likes moist conditions, your tree will need good drainage between waterings.

Propagation

For best results the False Cypress should be grown in full sun to partial shade and will prefer a moist well draining soil that is non alkaline. Although drought tolerant once established, it may stress in extremely hot weather and is best irrigated in summer months or during hot spells.
