In the Garden
A native of Japan, this tree is popular in Japanese gardens and is widely planted in parks and gardens in Japan, North America and Europe. A medium to large sized tree growing to about 20-30m it is perfect for an open grassy area or if well maintained will look great in a rocky garden.
For best results the False Cypress should be grown in full sun to partial shade and will prefer a moist well draining soil that is non alkaline. Although drought tolerant once established, it may stress in extremely hot weather and is best irrigated in summer months or during hot spells.
