In the Garden
A native to the Atlas mountains in Morocco and Algeria, this species is found on hill sides between 1000-2000m above sea level. The tree is best positioned in a spot where it can grow un impeded as it looks best when branches are allowed to grow to ground level.
Propagation
This tree is quite frost tollerant and will grow in all cool and termperate areas of Australia. Best to plant in a well draining soil that is slightly acidic although it will grow in most other soil types. Given enough space for the roots to roam this tree is extremely drought tollerant once established.
